Strating on March 2005 I revisited an original story idea that has been in gestation for some 15 years. The whole concept revolves around an almost extinct species that reproduces by spores without need of intercourse, or even physical contact. Developing the story around such a society has been a challenge to say the least.
This is one of a handful of concept illustrations I did in summer 2005.
It's 95% Photoshop, with minimal pencil drawing half way through the process for tightening the foreground figure.
